Do you own a Dux storage hot water system, or something very similar?
It’d be a good idea just to lift the cover off your storage hot water system every now and then and have a look at how it’s burning.
In the video below, we show you why it’s important.
We got called to a customer’s house, and this Dux actually had flames coming out of the bottom of the burner.
As you can see in the video, it was burning each side of the foam on the outside.
Now this can be very dangerous. You don’t want flames coming out here and setting your whole unit alight, and then potentially your whole house.
What causes that is either a blockage in your flue, or in this case, a device inside it was failing, and not opening the flap in there for the flue.
We’re glad to get this sorted and prevent more dangerous situations.
So make sure you check inside the cover to see if it is all safe.
