Do you have a blocked toilet?
Many things that can cause it, including an unexpected roots in drain like in this case.
In this video, we’ll show you an amazingly large root that we found inside someone’s toilet pipes.
Have you got roots in drain?
We were replacing a client’s toilet with a new one as well as sorting out the blockage they had, not expecting an enormous roots in drain.
We managed to get the root out. All clean now.
If you ever find your toilet blocks up, we have done a video on how to unblock toilet and solve blocked drain with a mop. You can easily do that yourself.
But if it’s a severe blockage like this one, you’ll need to call your local plumber.
Department of Health says that if people put the wrong things down the toilet, it will block the toilets and toilet pipes. Those things could be:
- food scraps
- paper
- rags
- cans
- bottles
- grease
- fat
“Wastewater pipes from sinks, basins and laundry tubs can get blocked if people put food waste, especially tea leaves, hot fat and other rubbish down them. If hot fat is poured down an outlet pipe, it will set in the pipe when it cools and cause a blockage.
In addition to blockages caused by these materials, main sewer pipes can get blocked in other ways, for example, tree roots growing into the pipe joints and soil blocking the pipe when it is broken by vehicle traffic.”
