Stabbed by Star Picket: You Need to See This Blocked Drain

Do you need to put a star picket on the ground?

For any reason you need to do put the star picket on the ground, please read/watch ahead before doing so. You don’t want to cause an unnecessary blocked drain.

Wait, what? How does that even relate? Well, in this video, we’ll show you why we brought this up.

Do you have a blocked drain?

There are various reasons your drain is blocking up, and yet this one is quite unique.

We got called out in the morning for a blocked drain, so poo and everything was coming out of these inspection openings and the DG (Disconnector Gully) and everything. We were just starting, setting up the jetter and sending it down the drain here, when we noticed something.

At the back where one of the inspection openings was, as we were walking past the big, massive tree there, we could hear the jetter noise. Then we noticed the star picket going down, and the noise was coming from that.

In the video, you can hear that there’s something going on down there. We asked the owner how long ago the star picket was put in, and they said about a week ago. His mate did it for him because he recently had a shoulder operation. They thought there was nothing under there so they stabbed the star picket through.

We dug it through and in the video you can see the star picket has stabbed through the sewer pipe and sand is just pouring out the bottom of it. Nice and centre just how you like it.

We went and fixed it up, but this is why we brought this to your attention. Before you go and put some star pickets on the ground, it’s good to check if there’s any sewer pipe and stuff in the way.
